Fieldcrest Senior Housing
This project was chose was chosen to fill a need in the rural area for senior housing. The project consists of assisted/independent apartments with a choice of units: one bedroom, two bedroom or one bedroom with a den. All units include kitchens and laundry facilities. The facility has activity areas for the residents along with a commercial kitchen and a community dining room. The site was developed for outdoor leisure and walking paths. With a prairie style influence, the design elements of the exterior reflect the culture of the community and its history and is compatible with the adjacent community hospital.
Kingswood Court Senior Housing
A vacant elementary school was given a new life as an assisted living facility in Nebraska. The building was constructed in 1954 on a site adjacent to a regional hospital. The design concept was to utilize the existing structure while aesthetically creating a building that relates to the community and the surrounding residential neighborhood. The warm earthy colors create an atmosphere that fosters familiarity and friendship. The project incorporates the site for outside enjoyment and access for visitors. The existing gymnasium was transformed into a dining room and activity area. Residential units include both one and two bedroom suites.
Summerlawn Senior Housing
The senior housing project in Kansas consists of 30 each: memory care, assisted living and independent living suites. The development also included administrative areas, activity centers and kitchen and dining rooms. The facility was designed to be compatible with the community through the forms and use of natural materials and to create a warm welcoming atmosphere. The site was planned to incorporate and promote outdoor activities through the use of courtyards and walking paths. The design included designated entrances for the various functions and residential types to facilitate visitation.
